Jessica and I have been performing since she was 6 and after 15 years of arranging, writing and playing together we thought it just might be time to record some of what we have assembled over the years. We've got some covers of tunes we love and some original work by each of us both individually- and co-written, set into an ecclectic folky style with heavy influences from jazz, Americana, country and even classical. We had way too much fun building this project, not only because of the sheer fun it is to make music with another creative musician, but especially the daddy-daughter vibe. That's something I'll never tire of.
A bit of a change in direction, this worship and praise album takes several of the current contemporary worship tunes we regularly sing in church and adds a bit of country feel to them. Sort of a southern rock / country rock genre, the driving electric is complemented by fiddle and steel. Several new original songs fill out the roster. Overall it’s driving music – the kind where you roll the top down and try real hard to stay within the speed limit. Lyrically it turned out to be an expose on the life and walk of a Christian; starting out with a search, dealing with everyday issues, and ending with the reward.
